Penshurst War Memorial
The War Memorial on Bridge Street, Penshurst was unveiled on November 11, 2011.
It honours all those who have served in all wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations.
The dedication plaque
Young figure is seen emerging from the rock.
Based upon a commando serving in Afghanistan, he faces East to the future.
Older figure represents a Vietnam veteran fading back into the rock
and facing West into the setting sun, and into the past.
The central Altar has the Sword of St. George cut through
the rock referencing the local St. George Regiment.
